an open bar and be one of your biggest expenses. Why not give your guests and yourself more for less? Find venues that allow you to provide your own alcohol and hire a bartender. Purchasing your alcohol at liquor
store pricing and being able to return the leftovers will have a huge effect on your budget. Visit our preferred vendors tab.
A bartending service will not only save you money, it will allow you to get creative and add your special touch to the reception. How about a lavender infused lemonade after the ceremony or Italian sodas for the kids?
We can work with you to create a specialty drink that goes with your wedding theme. Bartenders4you have worked hundreds of weddings and are excited to help you with yours.
Wedding Bar Tips
- 1. Choose venue that lets you bring your own alcohol
- 2. Hire a bartending service- you would not trust your DJ to cater the food so make sure you have a bartender that can “make” drinks and not just somebody standing behind the bar pouring drinks
- 3. Make sure your wedding bartenders are insured and TABC certified
- 4. Wine and beer vs. full bar- If you cant afford to offer a full bar, try to come up with one or two special drinks to accompany your wine and beer. You will still make the cocktail drinkers happy but you will only have to purchase one or two kinds of liquors, saving you money.
When throwing a cocktail party at your home you really need to put some thought into the flow of your party. Where are people going to congregate and where are the possible bottlenecks. If your hiring a bartending service, you want to pick a space for the bar thats not on carpet, there will be some spillage. Also its nice to have the bar in an area thats contained so guests wont be able to see or get behind the bar. This keeps the clutter and extra supplies out of site and your bar area looking sleek. Be sure that you have plenty of space between the bar and any tables and chairs as people tend to congregate at the which can leave to a bottleneck.
To many people make the mistake of putting all of the food in the kitchen, this can lead to some major traffic jams. Try to spread some of your food stations through out the house. People will naturally keep circulating and moving around and ultimately meeting and talking to more people, which is what cocktail parties are all about!
Cheers!

Always choose to have your bartender bring the ice; we have had so many clients that choose to bring their ice only to save a few bucks and guess what ice is the very last thing a bride or groom has on their mind the day of the wedding.
Just because your friends and family are "BIG Drinkers" doesn't mean they are going to be BIG drinkers at your wedding reception. I promise you that you will not need seven Kegs and 20 bottles of liquor at your reception. If you hire a beverage service that incourages you to buy huge amounts of alcohol please do your homework, especially if you are buying from them directly. You could be stuck with abunch of unused alcohol that that cater gets to keep that you paid for.
Choose a venue that allows you to choose your Beverage Service this can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Also, choose a Beverage service that allows you to purchase the alcohol, again you will save money because any unopened bottles can be returned to the store. Saving you lots of money...

Wedding Signature Cocktails
For brides on a budget, a signature wedding cocktail can be a great way to go. At your wedding reception, rather than having an open bar, serve your guests beer and wine, champagne for the toast, and then one special cocktail. Make sure it has a fun and flirty name, and consider making a festive sign announcing it for the bar.
Here are a few suggestions for that signature wedding cocktail:
Love is in the Air
2 oz. sloe gin
2 dashes raspberry syrup
2 dashes lemon juice
1 egg white
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake well, strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop a raspberry in the glass for a special touch.
Wedding Belle Cocktail
3/4 oz Dubonnet
3/4 oz Gin
1 Dash of Cherry Brandy
1 Dash of Orange Juice
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
Sealed with a Kiss
2 oz chocolate liqueur such as Godiva or Crème de Cacao
1.5 oz vodka
Hershey's Kiss
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake well, and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Put a Hershey's Kiss in the bottom for the added love touch.
Hot Romance
1 1/2 oz rum
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz orange juice
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail glass over ice. Stir and serve with an orange slice.
And, if you already have a favorite cocktail, feel free to rename it with a cute wedding-appropriate name.
If cocktails are not your thing, try a wedding punch. Almost any punch can be a wedding punch, but here are two examples. The first is the luxurious version, the second is more budget-minded. Make sure you have more chilled ingredients standing by in case your guests are thirsty!

1/2 cup Chambord raspberry
1 cup Triple Sec
1 cup Brandy
2 cups pineapple juice
1 liter of ginger ale
2 bottles dry champagne
The night before the wedding, chill the ginger ale and the dry champagne. Combine the Chambord, Triple Sec, brandy and pineapple juice in a bowl, cover, and chill overnight. When ready to serve, combine all ingredients and serve in a pretty bowl with ice cubes.
Traditional Wedding Punch
Makes 20 cups
2 cups vodka
4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
4 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
64 oz ginger ale
